Terms of Use

MiPie — effective September 4, 2026

1. Acceptance

By installing or using MiPie (the “app”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app and delete it.

2. The service

The app is provided free of charge and “as is.” There is no fee and there are no in-app purchases.

3. How the app works

The app records only some of the Wi-Fi networks you connect to. The goal is to keep only the places where you settled in to work.

Recorded

You connected to a network that required a password or a login, and
You were not in motion at that moment, and
You had not recently been in a vehicle, and
The network was not a personal hotspot, and
Your location could be determined accurately enough, and
That network name is one the app has not recorded before

Cafés, libraries, and community centers typically fall into this category.

Not recorded

Open networks that require no password (for example SEOUL, PublicWiFi@…, subway networks)
While you are in motion — buses and other places you merely pass through
When you have been in a vehicle within the last few minutes — including a bus stopped at a light
Personal hotspots — a hotspot follows a person, not a place
Where location accuracy is poor — subways and other underground spaces
Networks using outdated security (WEP)
Networks already recorded (home, workplace, and so on). A trailing band or floor marker (Cafe and Cafe_5G) is treated as the same place

An existing record can also be removed. If the same access point is seen again more than 500 m from where it was recorded, the app treats that Wi-Fi as something that moves — a bus or a train — rather than a fixed place, and deletes the record automatically. The app tells you when this happens.

Motion is judged from the travel speed in your location data together with your device’s recent activity history. This is an estimate and is not perfect, so an unwanted record may still be created. You can delete any unwanted record by tapping it on the map.

Reading activity history requires Motion & Fitness permission; if you deny it, no records are created.

Pins on the map look the same regardless of the kind of network. You can give a record your own name; if you do not, the network name is used.

Because of iOS restrictions, records are created only while the app is on screen. If you do not open the app, connecting to a network produces no record. This is not a defect in the app — iOS does not notify apps of Wi-Fi connections in the background.

4. Notice about location accuracy

Recorded locations are estimates derived from GPS, Wi-Fi, and cellular signals, and they contain error.

The 50-meter circle shown on the map is an approximation, not an exact boundary. The point where you actually connected may lie outside the circle. Records from this app must not be used as proof of location or for any comparable purpose.

5. Responsibility for your records

Records are stored only on your device. The app provides no backup or synchronization.

Accordingly, records cannot be recovered if:

You delete a record inside the app (a confirmation step is shown first)
You delete the app
You reset or lose your device
Your device fails and its data becomes inaccessible

Preserving your records is entirely your responsibility, and the developer is not liable for their loss.

6. Prohibited uses

You must not use the app for any of the following:

Tracking or recording another person’s location or movements without their consent
Gaining unauthorized access to someone else’s network, or assisting others in doing so
Reverse engineering, copying, or modifying the app, or attempting to do so
Any activity that violates applicable law

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided without warranty of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability. The developer does not warrant that the app will operate without error or that records will always be created correctly.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of or inability to use the app. This includes loss of records and damages resulting from inaccurate location information.

9. Changes and discontinuation

The developer may change the app’s features or discontinue it without prior notice.

10. Changes to these terms

Changes will be communicated through app updates and this document. Continuing to use the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea.
